At a glance: Google Ads budget calculation uses three inputs: the monthly target number of inquiries, the expected conversion rate and the average cost per click (CPC). Dividing the target by the conversion rate gives the required clicks; multiplying clicks by CPC gives the monthly budget. Following Google’s method, the monthly amount is divided by 30.4 to obtain the average daily budget. Onur Freelance’s management fee is separate from this budget and starts at 9,000 TL per month.

An advertising plan often begins with the question ‘how much should we spend per month?’; a stronger plan works backward from how many forms, calls or messages are wanted by the end of the month. The calculator below performs this backward calculation and, in reverse mode, estimates how many clicks and inquiries the available amount could produce. No industry averages have been loaded into the tool: the conversion rate comes from the business’s own data, and the click cost is entered using Google’s Keyword Planner estimate.

The gray numbers in the boxes are example values only; they are not industry averages. The calculation uses the business's own target, its own conversion rate and the click cost obtained from Keyword Planner. The optional industry selection shows the industry's bid range from our own Keyword Planner measurements and its peak month according to Google Trends. Information entered is not sent to any server; the calculation takes place inside the browser.

1. What should be calculated?
2. Industry (optional)
Forms, calls, WhatsApp messages or sales: the number you want to reach during the month.
The monthly amount intended for payment to Google; the management fee is excluded.
How many out of 100 clicks turn into the target action. If the target is customers, the rate must also be the click-to-customer rate.
Cost per click; obtained from the estimate in Google Ads Keyword Planner.

The result appears here when all three fields are completed. A comma can be used for decimals (e.g., 2,5).

Onur Freelance management fee: A monthly fee starting at 9,000 TL. The advertising budget calculated above is not included in this fee; that amount is paid to Google through the business's own Ads account.

SEO is a separate service, also starting at 9,000 TL per month. Fee details: Google Ads prices.

The result is a planning estimate, not a guarantee of clicks or inquiries. The daily amount follows Google's method of dividing the monthly budget by 30.4; for advertisements shown in Turkey, a regulatory operating costs surcharge is also added to Google's invoice.

How to use the Google Ads budget calculator

The Google Ads budget calculator is used in four steps; approximate values are sufficient and the result updates instantly with every change:

  1. Choose the calculation direction: Select the first option to work from target inquiries to budget, or the reverse calculation option to see what a specific monthly amount corresponds to.
  2. Enter the target or budget: In the first mode, enter the monthly target for forms, calls, messages or sales; in reverse mode, enter the monthly amount to be paid to Google.
  3. Enter the conversion rate: Enter the percentage of a hundred clicks that turn into the target action. A comma can be used for decimal values.
  4. Enter the average CPC: Enter in TL the estimated click cost provided by Keyword Planner for the selected keywords.

The results box shows the number of clicks, monthly and average daily budgets, cost per inquiry and the explicit calculation formula; the WhatsApp button converts these values into a prepared message.

The budget formula: From target to clicks, from clicks to budget

The Google Ads budget calculation formula consists of two divisions and one multiplication. Dividing the monthly target by the conversion rate gives the required clicks; multiplying the number of clicks by average CPC gives the monthly advertising budget; dividing the monthly budget by 30.4 gives the average daily budget to enter in the campaign. Dividing the monthly budget by the target gives the cost per inquiry.

The figures in the table are not averages for any industry; they are example values selected only to demonstrate the sequence of the calculation:

StepCalculation (example value)Result
Required clicks30 inquiries ÷ 5%600 clicks
Monthly advertising budget600 clicks × 10 TL6,000 TL
Average daily budget6,000 TL ÷ 30.4≈ 197.37 TL (the tool displays 198 TL)
Cost per inquiry6,000 TL ÷ 30 inquiries200 TL

The tool rounds fractional click counts and TL amounts upward; it allows for extra clicks so the plan does not fall short of the target. The cost-per-inquiry row is also related to the Target CPA bidding strategy: according to the Google Ads Help Center, advertisers set the desired average cost per conversion in this strategy.

Which data should the conversion rate come from?

The conversion rate should come from the business’s own advertising or website data. The definition of conversion rate in the Google Ads Help Center calculates the rate by dividing the number of conversions by the total number of ad interactions that can be attributed to a conversion in the same period. Google also notes that the rate may exceed 100% when multiple conversion actions are tracked or ‘Every’ conversion is counted; because the calculator assumes a single target action, it accepts a maximum of 100%.

If conversion measurement is configured in the account, the rate can be read directly from the campaign report. According to Google’s conversion measurement page, defining actions such as purchases, registrations or telephone calls shows which keywords and advertisements generate valuable customer activity. If measurement is not yet available, a rough starting rate is obtained by comparing monthly website forms and calls with visit counts, then replaced with the first campaign data.

An inquiry and a customer are not the same thing. If the target is ’10 new customers per month,’ the rate must also be the click-to-customer rate. Using example values: if 100 clicks produce 4 forms and a quarter of those forms turn into sales, the click-to-customer rate is 1%. Entering 4% in this situation shows the required budget as four times lower than it actually is. This is why industry rates were not added to the tool; two businesses with different offers, prices and landing pages can have different rates even in the same industry.

How to find average CPC in Keyword Planner

The average CPC required for Google Ads budget calculation comes from Keyword Planner inside the account. According to Google’s Keyword Planner usage page, the tool shows new keywords, estimated monthly searches for those keywords and the average cost when advertisements are displayed; billing information must be entered and account setup completed to use the basic features. The CPC value is obtained in this order:

  1. Open Keyword Planner from the Tools menu in Google Ads.
  2. Search for service-related keywords using ‘Discover new keywords,’ or upload a prepared list using ‘Get search volume and forecasts.’
  3. Set the location and language according to the area the campaign will target; competition and bid range data are specific to the selected location and Search Network setting.
  4. Add suitable keywords to the plan and enter the average CPC value from the forecasts screen into the calculator.

Google’s Keyword Planner forecasts page distinguishes between two types of data. Forecasts take bids, budgets, seasonality and historical ad quality into account; historical metrics such as average monthly searches do not consider these factors. The low range for top-of-page bids comes from approximately the 20th percentile of bids advertisers previously paid, while the high range comes from approximately the 80th percentile, based on bid information from the last 30 days. Running the calculator separately with these two values produces lower and upper limits for the budget.

Planner forecasts are based on the last 7–10 days and updated daily; repeating the calculation a few weeks later may show a different CPC. According to Google’s definition of actual CPC, the final amount paid for a click is usually lower than the maximum CPC bid, because the auction charges the lowest amount needed to clear Ad Rank thresholds and beat the competitor immediately below.

Let us work out keyword costs together

If Keyword Planner is not accessible, the service, target area and monthly inquiry target can be sent through WhatsApp. The CPC and conversion rate assumptions to use in the calculation are clarified in the free preliminary assessment, and a management proposal is prepared and delivered the same day.

How is a monthly budget converted to a daily budget?

Dividing the monthly figure produced by Google Ads budget calculation by 30.4 gives the average daily budget. In Google Ads, budgets are entered as an average daily amount per campaign rather than a monthly amount; Google’s daily budget setup instructions also ask those working with monthly budgets to divide that number by 30.4. The average daily budgets page explains that 30.4 is the average number of days in a month, obtained by dividing 365 by 12.

According to the same page, Google increases spending on days with a higher likelihood of clicks or conversions; some days are below the average and some above it. For most campaigns, spending on a single day does not exceed twice the average, and the monthly total does not exceed 30.4 times that average. The daily figure in the calculator therefore means ‘this much on average throughout the month,’ rather than ‘exactly this much every day.’

The conversion method is the same for campaigns using ad scheduling. According to the Google Ads Help Center, these campaigns work toward a monthly target of 30.4 times the average daily budget, regardless of how many days they are active during the month. For multiple campaigns, the monthly budget is first distributed between campaigns, then each share is divided by 30.4.

Reverse calculation: How many clicks and inquiries can the available budget produce?

If the budget is known beforehand, the tool works in reverse mode: dividing the monthly amount by average CPC gives estimated clicks, and multiplying clicks by the conversion rate gives estimated inquiries. With the same example values, 6,000 TL ÷ 10 TL = 600 clicks, and 600 × 5% = 30 inquiries. In reverse mode, clicks and inquiries are rounded down; an inquiry the budget cannot support does not appear in the result.

This mode shows two things. First, whether the amount is sufficient for the target: if the result falls below the target, the budget, CPC or rate must change. Second, the effect of an improvement in the rate: with other values held constant, increasing the rate from 5% to 6% means 36 inquiries from the same 600 clicks. Some work affecting the rate takes place on the landing page rather than in the advertisement; page speed, form layout and making the offer understandable on the first screen are covered on the landing page design page.

Why is the calculated budget not a definite result?

The calculated budget is not a definite result because it relies on three assumptions, each of which changes in a live campaign. Google emphasizes that Keyword Planner provides traffic forecasts, but campaign performance depends on factors such as bids, budgets, ad quality, location targeting, products and customer behavior. CPC is determined again in every auction; according to Google, Ad Rank thresholds and the associated actual CPC are generally higher for advertisements shown above search results.

If a Smart Bidding strategy will be used, the initial period is also included in the plan. Google’s conversion measurement page states that these strategies require a standard learning phase of 7 to 14 days to gather sufficient data and recommends avoiding frequent manual changes to budgets, CPA or ROAS targets, or conversion goals during this period. After the first month, the Google Ads budget calculation steps are repeated using actual CPC and the actual conversion rate. For live campaigns, Google’s Performance Planner shows the possible effects of setting changes on spending and performance.

How are the advertising budget, management fee and surcharges separated?

The amount calculated by the tool is only the advertising spend going to Google. The total monthly cost consists of three separate items:

  • Advertising budget: Transferred directly to Google through the payment settings in the business’s own Ads account; it does not pass through Onur Freelance.
  • Management fee: Onur Freelance’s Google Ads management fee starts at 9,000 TL per month; the exact amount is specified in the proposal after reviewing the number of campaigns, campaign types and scope.
  • Google surcharge: Google’s help page on surcharges states that a charge called Turkey Regulatory Operating Costs is added on top of advertising costs for advertisements shown in Turkey; the rate applied since January 1, 2026 is 4.5%.

SEO is a separate service; its fee also starts at 9,000 TL per month. When both services are planned together, their fees are calculated separately. Factors affecting the management fee and criteria for comparing proposals are explained on the Google Ads prices page, while the scope of the service is described on the Google advertising management page.

Let us review the calculated budget together

The result from the tool can be sent with a single tap using the WhatsApp button. A proposal showing the advertising budget and management fee on separate lines is prepared the same day; target, rate and CPC assumptions are also reviewed individually in the free preliminary assessment.

What mistakes are made when planning an advertising budget?

The mistake that most disrupts a plan is applying another business’s conversion rate, or one from a general report, to your own account. The rate is a product of the offer, price and landing page, and the calculator’s result is only as reliable as the rate entered.

Confusing maximum CPC with average CPC: According to Google, maximum CPC is the highest amount an advertiser is willing to pay for a click, and the amount actually paid is often lower. The budget calculation uses the planner’s estimated average CPC rather than the bid ceiling.

Launching a campaign without setting up measurement: Without conversion measurement, the actual rate is unknown at the end of the first month and the calculation cannot be updated. Form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks should be measurable before the campaign starts.

Leaving the website out of the calculation: If the page loads slowly or the form does not work, the budget is spent on clicks without generating inquiries. For regular checks, the website management page can be reviewed.

Failing to monitor account status: If advertisements are not running, no budget plan will work. The steps to follow when an account is suspended are described in the Google Ads account suspended article.

Let us finalize the advertising plan the same day

Onur Freelance works in Gülsuyu, Maltepe; meetings within Istanbul take place face to face or online, while work with businesses outside the city is handled remotely. When the service, area and monthly target are provided in a short message, a Google Ads management proposal is prepared the same day and the preliminary assessment is free.

Frequently asked questions

Dividing the monthly target number of inquiries by the expected conversion rate gives the required clicks. Multiplying this number by average CPC produces the monthly advertising budget. Dividing the monthly amount by 30.4 gives the average daily budget to enter in the campaign.

30.4 is the average month length obtained by dividing 365 days by 12 months. For most campaigns, Google Ads limits monthly spending to 30.4 times the average daily budget. This is why the monthly plan is converted to a daily budget by dividing by 30.4.

Keyword Planner in Google Ads shows estimated average costs and top-of-page bid ranges for selected keywords. Accessing basic features requires billing information to be entered in the account. Making two separate calculations with the low and high ranges provides a budget range.

Compare the website’s current form and call counts with visit numbers to obtain a rough starting rate, and enter it cautiously. After the campaign launches with conversion measurement, read the actual rate from the report and update the calculation. Other businesses’ rates have not been preloaded into the tool.

No, the result is a planning estimate based on the assumptions entered. CPC is determined again in every auction, and the conversion rate can vary with the offer, price and landing page. The calculation is repeated using actual data from the first month.

No, they are separate items. Onur Freelance’s Google Ads management fee starts at 9,000 TL per month. The amount spent on advertising is paid to Google through the business’s own advertising account and is not included in this fee. SEO, as a separate service, also starts at 9,000 TL per month.

Yes. The Google Ads Help Center states that an additional charge called Turkey Regulatory Operating Costs is added on top of advertising costs for advertisements shown in Turkey. The rate applied since January 1, 2026 is 4.5%.

The WhatsApp button in the calculator transfers the target, rate, CPC and result into a prepared message addressed to 0532 690 9924. A Google Ads management proposal is prepared the same day after the free preliminary assessment is completed.
