Adding a business to Apple Maps is done through Apple’s free business platform, which has been called Apple Business since April 14, 2026. The tool previously known as Apple Business Connect merged with Apple Business Manager and Apple Business Essentials under one roof; old Business Connect data were automatically moved to the new platform. An organization account is created and verified, then a brand and location are added; approved information appears on the Apple Maps place card, in Siri, and in Spotlight searches.
This article covers features in Türkiye, registration and verification steps, place card and photo rules, differences from Google and Bing, and Applebot. The explanations are based on Apple’s official user guide and Newsroom announcement (accessed October 11, 2026). Onur Freelance is not an official support channel for Apple, Google, or Microsoft; Apple’s support team has the final say on account and approval decisions.
Let us start your Apple Maps listing correctly
If the business appears on Google but is missing from Apple Maps used by iPhone users or has outdated information there, the existing listing is reviewed in a free preliminary assessment. This clarifies which account holds the location, the verification document, and missing place card information.
What is Apple Business Connect, and why is it now called Apple Business?
Apple Business Connect was the free tool businesses used to manage information in Apple Maps and other Apple apps; since April 14, 2026, it has been part of a single platform called Apple Business. Brand and location management continues; the umbrella platform and address have changed.
Apple’s March 24, 2026 Newsroom announcement, states that Apple Business is available as a free service in the US and more than 200 countries and regions. According to the same announcement, claimed locations, place card information, photos, and account details were automatically moved to the new platform. The old Apple Business Connect user guide is now a page announcing this merger; businessconnect.apple.com also redirects to business.apple.com.
Administrators who signed in to Business Connect with a personal Apple Account can also sign in to Apple Business with the same account. Continuing with a personal account opens only brand and location management; this is the section needed for an Apple Maps business listing.
Where does an Apple Maps listing appear? Siri, Spotlight, and the place card
Approved location information is shown in what Apple calls a place card, and according to Apple, this card appears in Siri, Calendar, Messages, and Spotlight searches as well as Maps. When Siri provides business information, the card shown is shaped by the name, hours, and phone number managed in Apple Business.
The Apple Business introduction page explains that the brand can be found in places such as Maps, Apple Wallet, and Siri; the Newsroom announcement adds that the card is also shown in Safari. Types of businesses for which the listing is particularly useful include:
- Cafes and restaurants: Action buttons such as menu, reservations, pickup, and delivery can be defined.
- Hairdressers: A business operating by appointment only enters the hours during which appointments are available in the regular hours field.
- Auto services: Services with separate hours, such as spare parts sales, are shown in the service hours field.
- Businesses visiting customers, such as boiler servicing: Apple states that service businesses without a physical location can also use Apple Business.
- Furniture stores and multi-branch businesses: Each branch gets its own cover photo, and locations can be uploaded in a single file.
No usage share is given for Apple Maps in Türkiye because no official data were found. For a business already having a Google profile, adding a business to Apple Maps is a free step ensuring the same information appears correctly in a second ecosystem.
Is Apple Business available in Türkiye, and which features are enabled?
Yes; Apple’s feature availability page lists Türkiye among countries where Brand and Location Management is available; this is the feature needed for a Maps listing.
The Türkiye row also lists Branded Mail (brand logos in emails), built-in device management, Managed Apple Accounts, and Tap to Pay on iPhone; Tap to Pay has a footnote stating it is not available in every country. Features unavailable in Türkiye or whose status is unclear are:
- Ads on Maps: Apple’s promotion in Maps page states that it is available only in the US and Canada to advertisers with locations and addresses in those countries.
- Business email, calendar, contacts, and additional iCloud storage: According to the introduction page, these can be added only for US-based organizations.
- Showcase module: It does not appear as a separate row in the availability table. Turkish is in the supported language list; Apple’s help page does not separately specify whether showcases are displayed on place cards in Türkiye.
The list is based on a reading dated October 11, 2026; Apple updates the table periodically.
Adding a business to Apple Maps, step by step
Adding a business to Apple Maps consists of three parts: creating the organization account, adding the brand, and placing the location on the map. Menu names are those in Apple’s English guide.
What is needed before starting
Apple’s requirements page asks for an individual’s legal first and last name, work email, and work phone for the first administrator; role names such as “IT Manager” are rejected. This email must not have been used previously as an Apple Account or linked to an App Store or iCloud account. Addresses from general email providers are accepted.
Organization and brand registration
- At business.apple.com, select Sign up now .
- Enter the organization name, website, and address; the website is optional but, according to Apple, may speed up verification.
- Enter first and last name, country, password, and phone; confirm the account using codes sent to the email and phone, and accept the terms.
- Brands › Brand Profiles is where you enter the brand name, country, primary category, and website, and select whether the business owns the brand or operates as a dealership. The logo can be added later.
Adding a location
The location is added in the sequence on the adding a single location page :
- Brands › Locations is where you select Add Location and Add single location.
- Enter the business name. If the location is managed by another organization, a “This location is already managed” warning appears; the location is still added, and a transfer request is sent.
- Enter the address; if the marker is on the wrong building, drag the map or enter coordinates.
- Enter the default language, display name, primary category, status (Open or Opening Soon), and phone with country code. For a business opening soon, the opening date can be no more than six months ahead.
- Set opening hours, link the location to the brand, and initiate verification if the organization is not verified.
After verification, an auto service chain with multiple branches can bulk upload locations using a .tsv template with up to 10,000 rows.

Apple Business verification: Tax number, domain, and documents
Apple requires the organization to be verified using two different methods within 60 days after registration; the review may take up to five business days and longer during busy periods. If approval is not obtained within this period, the organization, its data, and Managed Apple Accounts are deleted.
According to the registration and verification page , the process starts through Settings › Organization › Verify Now . The available methods are:
- Business ID: Apple’s the list of accepted ID types includes the Tax Registration Number issued by the tax authority for Türkiye.
- Domain verification: A TXT record provided by Apple is added to the business domain’s DNS settings.
- App Store Connect: If the business has an app in the App Store, select the relevant app; this option is not available to third-party agencies.
After selecting a method, upload an official document; Apple’s list includes a business license, operating permits, lease or property agreement, and invoice. Repeat the process with a second method and submit using Send for Review. A cafe or furniture store with a tax number and its own domain can prepare these two methods without opening an additional account.
When claiming a location already in Maps, phone verification is sometimes offered: Apple’s registered number is called, and a four-digit code is entered. If the location is managed by another organization, use Request Transfer to send a transfer request and supporting documentation; this review may also take up to five business days.
Let us prepare verification documents together
The tax number, domain TXT record, and document to be uploaded are collected in a single list; the name, address, and phone on the website are checked against the information to be entered into Apple. This work is carried out within the scope of the local SEO service . The account is opened with the business’s own email, and administrator authority remains with the business.
How do you complete the place card? Name, address, hours, category, and photos
The place card is the most labor-intensive part of adding a business to Apple Maps; each field must match the business signage and official website. The sources of the rules are the location attributes page and photo and text standards.
- Display name: It must match the name on the signage or website. Descriptions, the ®, ©, and ™ symbols, and neighborhood names added to distinguish branches are not accepted.
- Address and coordinates: The address must be the official address written on the website; coordinates must sit directly over the building rather than indicating the sidewalk, road, or parking entrance.
- Hours: Temporary hours for holidays are entered alongside regular hours; hours are required to match those on the website.
- Phone and website: The phone is written with a country code. The website can be the business’s own website or its Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok page; third-party websites are not accepted.
- Category: Select a single primary category and up to 19 additional categories.
- Good to Know: Amenities such as card payments, parking, and electric vehicle charging are listed on the card with icons.
Photo rules are stricter. Up to 100 photos can be uploaded per location, and each photo undergoes an Apple review lasting up to three business days. Images with filters, collages, watermarks, added text or QR codes, stock photos, and AI-generated content are not accepted.
| Image type | Minimum dimensions (pixels) | Ratio and note |
|---|---|---|
| Location photo | 720 x 960 | Shows the exterior, products, services, and setting |
| Cover photo | 1600 x 1040 | 2.5:1 center crop in Maps; a single unedited photo |
| Showcase photo | 492 x 492 | 1:1; consistent with the showcase title and text |
| Brand logo | 1024 x 1024 | 1:1; HEIF, JPEG, PNG, or SVG |
Maximum dimensions for all types are 4864 x 4864 pixels. A location-specific cover photo takes precedence over the brand’s general cover; a multi-branch furniture store can show each branch’s exterior separately.
What do Showcase, action buttons, and Insights do?
Showcase is a place card module announcing a new product, promotion, or event with a call-to-action button; action buttons bring ordering, reservation, or appointment links onto the card, while Insights reports how the card was found. Actions and showcases are added after the location is verified.
Apple’s showcase page states that a showcase includes a title of up to 38 characters, text of 100 characters, an image, and an action button; the default duration is 90 days and the maximum is 365 days. Because review takes up to three calendar days, submission at least three days before publication is recommended.
Action buttons vary by category; a cafe can add its menu, and a hairdresser its appointment page. Buttons appear in iOS 17.4 and later, and approval may take up to three business days. Insights becomes available no later than one hour after verification and answers these questions:
- Search taps: How many times was the location selected in search results?
- Search type: Did the user search for the business name, a category such as “cafe”, or a city or address?
- Place card interactions: How many taps occurred for directions, website, calls, sharing, and photos?
- Comparison with similar locations: Comparison with similar businesses by category, price level, and proximity.
Low values are shown as zero for privacy; for a small business, a monthly view is more meaningful.
Comparing Google Business Profile, Bing Places, and Apple Business
All three platforms are free and bring business information to maps and local search; differences appear in verification, importing, and category arrangements. The table includes only information read in official help pages and announcements; the Apple column shows where adding a business to Apple Maps differs from the other two platforms.
| Topic | Google Business Profile | Bing Places | Apple Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fee | Adding and claiming a profile is free | Free online platform | Free service |
| Where information appears | Google Search and Maps | Bing local searches | Maps, Siri, Spotlight, Calendar, Messages, Safari, and Wallet |
| Verification | Phone or SMS, email, video, mail; options vary by business, review up to 5 business days | Methods detailed in our Bing guide | Two methods and documents for the organization, up to 5 business days; phone code for an existing location |
| Importing Google data | Not applicable | Available | Not specified in the official source |
| Category | As few and as specific categories as possible are recommended | Detailed in our Bing guide | 1 primary, up to 19 additional |
| Service area | Up to 20 areas | Detailed in our Bing guide | A separate setting is not specified in the official source |
| Multi-location management | Bulk verification for 10 or more locations | Bulk editing tools | .tsv template, 10,000 rows per file |
Google steps are explained in the adding a business to Google Mapsguide, and Microsoft steps in the adding a business to Bing Places guide. Writing the same name, address, phone, and hours in all three listings ensures customers see the same information regardless of which map they use.
Applebot and the website: Can Siri and Spotlight read the website?
Applebot is Apple’s web crawler, and the data it collects feeds search in Spotlight, Siri, and Safari; allowing Applebot in robots.txt enables website content to appear in these products’ search results. The place card comes from Apple Business, while the content of the website linked on the card comes from Applebot crawling.
Apple’s The Applebot page includes these details for website owners:
- If Applebot is not mentioned in robots.txt but there are rules for Googlebot, Applebot follows Googlebot rules.
- If JavaScript or CSS files are blocked through robots.txt, Applebot may be unable to render the page correctly.
- A page with a noindex tag is not indexed and does not appear in Spotlight or Siri Suggestions.
- Blocking Applebot-Extended excludes content only from training Apple’s generative AI models; pages remain in search results.
If the server blocks unknown bots collectively, Applebot traffic is verified using a reverse DNS query to applebot.apple.com and added to the allowlist. Actions for being cited in AI responses are discussed on the AI search optimization page.
Common mistakes, corrections made by Apple, and maintenance routine
Most problems with Apple Maps listings arise from outdated hours, a location left in another account, and a noncompliant name; Apple may also correct a listing based on user reports.
According to the information accuracy page , if a business shown as open turns out to be closed, a user can report this to Apple from the card. If Apple edits the name, status, or hours, administrators receive an email; if the change is correct, approve it with Looks Good; otherwise, edit and appeal. Common mistakes include:
- Leaving the location in an agency’s or former employee’s account: The location appears as “already managed” and requires a transfer request; opening the account with the business’s own email reduces this risk.
- Adding descriptions to the display name: Phrases such as “Most affordable” violate display name rules.
- Leaving a closed branch in the listing: If “permanently closed” is selected as the reason when removing a location, the place is also marked closed in Maps.
- Not entering holiday hours: The temporary hours field exists for this purpose and does not alter regular hours.
Adding a business to Apple Maps does not end at registration; every three months, open the place card on an iPhone and check hours, phone, photos, and showcase duration. For Google pin problems, see the Wrong location on Google Maps article. To contact Apple, use account icon › Support in Apple Business.

WhatsApp and the phone line are available to ask questions, clarify a point of uncertainty, or begin setup.
