Gym website design is the planning and development of a website that presents the class schedule, instructors, membership options and facilities of a fitness center, pilates studio or specialist studio in one place, and guides visitors toward a trial class or membership consultation. A gym website goes beyond showcase photographs: it clearly states which class takes place at each time of the week, the maximum number of people in each group and the conditions under which membership ends.

The following sections cover the page plan, calendar and booking options, instructor and package pages, legal obligations for online membership and pricing, in that order. Based in Maltepe, Onur Freelance works with gyms in Istanbul in person or by video, and remotely with studios in other provinces.

Let us review your classes and membership arrangements together

A message of a few lines describing the classes offered at the gym, how memberships are currently sold and whether group classes have capacity limits is enough to get started. An initial assessment is provided free of charge, and a written proposal is sent on the same day.

Which questions should a gym website answer?

A well-built gym or studio website answers five questions prospective members ask before arriving at the door, within the first two screens: where the gym is and when it opens, which classes are available, who teaches them, how membership works and whether a trial is possible. Each of these questions corresponds to a page or section on the website:

  • Home page: Address, opening hours, featured disciplines and a trial class button.
  • Class schedule: A weekly calendar organized by day and time, with the level and instructor of each class.
  • Discipline pages: A separate description for each class type, such as reformer pilates, functional training, yoga or kickboxing.
  • Instructors: Photograph, area of specialization and the qualifications actually held.
  • Membership: Package types, freezing and cancellation conditions, and prices where available.
  • Facilities and contact: Photographs of the premises, changing and shower areas, parking or public transportation notes, a map and a privacy notice.

The type of facility determines which page takes priority in gym website design; the following matching table provides an initial outline.

Facility typeVisitor’s first questionFeatured tool on the website
Fitness center, gymHow late is it open, and what is the equipment like?Opening hours, equipment and premises photographs, membership page
Reformer pilates studioHow many people are in a group, and is there a beginner level?Capacity-limited class calendar, level description, instructor profile
Yoga, dance or martial arts studioWhich classes are running this week?Weekly schedule, discipline pages, trial class form
Personal training studioWho is the trainer, and how do the sessions progress?Trainer profile, introductory consultation request
Gym with multiple branchesWhich branch is closest to me?Branch selector, branch-specific schedule and contact information

The website is built with WordPress; new classes, changed times and new instructors are added through the dashboard. The general logic of its structure is the same as the corporate web design service, with the differences appearing in the calendar and membership sections.

How are class schedules and bookable group classes set up?

As part of gym website design, the class schedule is built as a calendar that opens by day, can be filtered by discipline or instructor, and does not require horizontal scrolling on a phone. A seven-column desktop table cannot be read on a phone; on mobile, each day has a separate tab and classes appear in time order.

Keeping the calendar up to date

Uploading the schedule as an image is quick, but it is also the approach that becomes outdated fastest. Search engines can read a calendar entered as text, and a canceled class can be marked with one click in the dashboard. An announcement banner sits above the schedule for holiday or summer timetable changes.

Capacity-limited classes and third-party systems

For classes limited by the number of machines, such as reformer pilates, places can be reserved in three ways. The choice depends on how the gym already tracks its memberships:

  1. Gym management software: If software is used to track members, the provider’s calendar component or link is embedded in the website; capacity, waiting lists and deductions from class packages are handled in that system.
  2. WordPress booking plugin: If there is no existing software, a structure that tracks capacity for each class is built into the website; the number of classes and payment requirements determine its scope.
  3. Request form and WhatsApp: For new studios with a small number of groups, a short form where visitors select a class and day, or a WhatsApp link with a prepared message, is sufficient.

The license or monthly fee for third-party software is paid directly to its provider; the scope of integration is stated separately in the proposal.

What information should instructor profiles include?

An instructor profile consists of a photograph, classes taught, teaching approach, days present at the gym and qualifications held; only information verified by inspecting the actual qualification document goes into the credentials section. Since prospective members in pilates and personal training often make their decision by choosing an instructor, every instructor name in the schedule is linked to the relevant profile during gym website design.

Regulation on private physical education and sports facilities, in Article 22, requires the operator to employ a trainer holding a coaching certificate or an instructor qualification designated by the relevant federation, and requires these documents to be displayed where everyone in the gym can see them. The website profile carries the same information as these documents; a course attendance certificate is not presented as an “international instructor qualification,” nor is ongoing training presented as a completed professional title.

Should prices appear on the membership packages page?

Whether or not to publish prices is the gym’s commercial decision; in either case, the package page clearly states the duration of membership, the classes included, the right to freeze membership and the conditions for ending it. Displaying the amount in gym website design allows visitors to assess their suitability from the start and reduces “how much is membership” messages; amounts that are not updated during promotional periods, however, create inconsistencies.

Three arrangements stand out: a clear amount beside each package, the minimum amount with a “starting from…” phrase, or a package comparison without figures and a consultation button. Whatever the choice, website information must not contradict the rates at the facility; Article 23 of the same regulation requires the applicable fee schedule to be displayed in a visible location at the premises. Conditional options, such as student or morning packages, appear on their own cards together with their conditions.

How are trial class and introductory forms designed?

A trial class form asks for a name, phone number, class of interest and suitable day, and can be completed on a phone in less than a minute; questions about weight, illnesses or injury history are not included in this form. Industry-specific website design gives each industry one main conversion step; for gyms, that step is usually a first class or a tour of the facilities.

This boundary is based on Article 6 of KVKK (Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law): health data belongs to the special category of personal data, and processing it is prohibited except for the exemptions listed in that article. Health documents required when accepting a member are collected through a separate process at the facility. A privacy notice link appears below the form, and a separate checkbox that is initially unchecked is used for promotional messages.

If the trial class will be promoted through advertising, a single landing page focused on the offer produces better results; its structure is explained in the landing page design service.

When do online membership sales and payments require e-commerce?

If a membership or class package will be purchased on the website by card payment, gym website design becomes an e-commerce project; a website that only promotes the business and collects consultation requests does not need payment infrastructure. Each package is defined as a product in WooCommerce, and monthly recurring payments use a method supported by the payment provider; infrastructure details appear on the e-commerce website development page.

An online membership sale is a distance contract, and legislation determines the structure of the sales page:

  • The package’s main characteristics, total price including taxes and information about the right of withdrawal are displayed separately immediately before the payment step.
  • For indefinite-term contracts or fixed-term subscription contracts, the total price is stated to include all expenses for each billing period.
  • The pre-contract information form and distance sales agreement are made available to read before payment confirmation.

The payment provider agreement and commissions are arrangements between the gym and the provider. The complete list of required legal documents appears in the e-commerce website legal requirements guide.

Let us document the class calendar and membership flow

Once the final weekly schedule, the name of any gym software in use and whether memberships will be sold online are clear, the scope is written out item by item. For projects involving bookings or payments, the price is calculated from this list.

Legislation for gym websites: withdrawal, termination, outcome promises and reviews

Gym website copy touches four sets of rules: distance contract provisions for online membership, subscription provisions for ongoing membership, advertising rules for promotional language and the facility’s own operating permit.

Right of withdrawal for memberships sold online

Regulation on distance contracts, in Article 9, states that consumers may withdraw from the contract within fourteen days without giving a reason or paying a contractual penalty; for service contracts, this period begins on the day the contract is concluded. Article 15 includes services whose performance begins with the consumer’s consent before the withdrawal period expires among the exceptions to the right of withdrawal. If the member will start using the gym on the day of purchase, this consent is explicitly obtained at checkout; Article 5 also requires advance notification where the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised.

Does the regulation on subscription contracts apply?

The regulation on subscription contracts defines its scope as all subscription contracts that allow consumers to obtain goods or services continuously or at regular intervals. Gym membership is not named in the text, nor does it appear among the examples on the Ministry of Trade’s subscription information page. Whether the gym’s membership model falls within this scope should be clarified with a legal adviser.

For a membership within that scope, three provisions directly affect the website: under Article 22, an indefinite-term contract or a contract lasting one year or longer may be terminated without a reason or contractual penalty; Article 23 states that the termination method cannot be more burdensome than the method used to conclude the contract; Article 13 also prohibits automatic renewal clauses in fixed-term contracts. This is why a visible cancellation route on the website forms part of the design for memberships sold online.

Outcome promises such as “10 kilos in 30 days”

Regulation on commercial advertising, in Article 7, requires advertisements to be accurate and honest; it does not permit statements that could mislead consumers about service characteristics, diplomas or similar credentials. Article 9 places the burden of proving claims on the advertiser. The weight example is not specifically named in the text; nevertheless, a weight or measurement promise tied to a specific period falls directly under these two articles. Article 7 also prohibits using mandatory licenses and permits in a way that portrays the gym as superior to others.

Member reviews and the 2026 amendment

Article 28/B, dedicated to consumer reviews, was rewritten by the amending regulation published in the July 1, 2026 issue of the Official Gazette; the new provision has applied since August 1, 2026. Under it, the person who purchased the service writes the review; reviews from channels where the purchase cannot be verified, or containing health claims contrary to legislation, cannot be published, unverified reviews cannot be used in advertising, and arrangements for fabricated reviews cannot be made. To generate a link taking members to the Google profile to leave a review, the Google review link generator tool can be used.

The facility’s operating permit

Under Article 15 of the regulation on private physical education and sports facilities, a facility is considered to have started operating with the operating permit issued after its documents are completed and opening permission is granted. The facility name and sports disciplines on that document are kept consistent with the discipline list on the website. This section provides general information and is not a legal opinion.

Facility photographs, virtual tours and Google Business Profile

Facility photographs should show the gym’s actual equipment, class areas, changing rooms and entrance in natural light. Stock fitness photographs do not match what a person visiting the gym will see; written permission is obtained for photographs showing members. If a virtual tour consisting of 360-degree photographs will be added to the website, it loads when the visitor reaches that section rather than when the page opens.

For searches such as “gym near me” or “Kadıköy pilates,” Google Business Profile is often the first place visitors see. The name, address, phone number and hours on the profile exactly match the website; category selection and photograph organization are covered in the Google Business Profile optimization guide . Since an appointment or booking link can be added to the profile, the trial class form address is also used here.

What are the steps in preparing a gym website?

Work begins by learning the gym’s class calendar and membership flow; the website does not go live before the trial class form and any booking screen have been tested on different phones.

  1. Introduction: Disciplines, group sizes, existing software and how memberships are sold are discussed; the proposal is prepared that day at the end of the free initial assessment.
  2. Materials list: The weekly schedule, instructor information and qualifications, package conditions, facility photographs and facility name on the operating permit are collected in a single list.
  3. Page map: The pages where the calendar, package cards and form will appear are approved.
  4. Design and setup: Screens are designed for phones first; WordPress is installed, and the calendar, form and any third-party component are connected.
  5. Search engine settings: Titles and descriptions for discipline pages are written, and a sitemap is created and submitted to Search Console.
  6. Delivery: The website goes live, and the gym team receives dashboard training showing how to update the schedule and packages.

A gym website whose copy and photographs have been supplied, and which has no payment or booking integration, is delivered within an average of 5-7 business days after work begins. For projects with online membership sales or capacity-limited class systems, the schedule is prepared after the scope has been documented. The domain name and hosting are registered in the gym’s own name.

What determines the price of gym website design?

The website’s structure, rather than the gym’s floor area, determines the price; gym website design is built on one of three fixed packages:

  • Single-page structure, starting at 12,000 TL: A small studio offering one discipline or a newly opened gym; the schedule, contact information and trial class form appear on the same page.
  • Corporate structure, starting at 15,000 TL: Separate discipline pages, instructor profiles, a packages page and a weekly calendar.
  • Structure with paid sales, starting at 24,000 TL: An e-commerce setup where memberships and class packages are sold by card.

The cost of additions such as gym software integration, capacity management, member login, a second language or multiple branches is clarified in the proposal according to scope; software and payment provider fees are paid to those providers. Optional monthly maintenance for updates, backups and security monitoring ranges from 500 to 2,000 TL. The monthly fee for SEO work starts at 9,000 TL; Google Ads management is a separate service, also starting at 9,000 TL per month, and does not include the advertising budget paid to Google. A rough budget can be prepared using the website price calculator tool.

The most common mistakes on gym websites and the right approach

In common practice, a ready-made theme labeled “fitness” is purchased and the gym’s logo is placed where the demo photographs were; these themes usually come with stock images, animated success counters and fabricated review sliders. On a fitness website planned specifically for the gym, the order is reversed: the weekly schedule, package conditions and trial class flow are established first, and the design is built around that content.

Other common mistakes:

  • Leaving capacity information off a pilates studio website and collecting requests for a class that is already full.
  • Keeping profiles of instructors who have left the gym on the website.
  • Allowing membership cancellation only at the premises, without an online route for packages sold over the internet.
  • Promises about weight or measurements within a fixed period, and transformation photographs of unclear origin.

For Onur Freelance gym projects, the scope is provided in writing, the domain is registered in the gym’s name and no promises are made about rankings or membership numbers.

Let us open the door to a trial class at your gym

Gyms at the research stage receive brief answers to their questions, the existing website and Google profile of those who are undecided are reviewed in terms of the class schedule, and a proposal is sent that day to businesses ready to start. The first conversation begins with the weekly schedule and membership flow.

Frequently asked questions

Gym website pricing starts with one of three fixed packages: a single-page structure from 12,000 TL, a corporate structure with discipline and instructor pages from 15,000 TL, and a paid structure selling memberships from 24,000 TL. The cost of additions such as a capacity-limited class system, gym software integration or multiple branches is specified in the proposal together with the written scope.

The schedule is entered as text rather than as an image; it appears as a weekly table on desktop and a list that opens by day on phones. Classes can be filtered by discipline and instructor, and canceled classes are marked through the dashboard.

Yes; if the studio uses gym management software, the provider’s calendar component is embedded in the website; otherwise, a booking structure that tracks capacity or a request form is built into the site. Third-party software fees are paid directly to the provider.

This is the gym’s decision; a clear price, starting price or package comparison without prices can be used. Whichever approach is chosen, information on the website must match the rates displayed at the facility, and freezing and cancellation conditions must be written on the package card.

Under the regulation on distance contracts, consumers can withdraw within fourteen days without giving a reason; for service contracts, the period begins on the day the contract is concluded. Services whose performance begins with the consumer’s consent before the withdrawal period ends are an exception, and this situation is clearly disclosed before payment.

The regulation on commercial advertising prohibits statements that could mislead consumers about service characteristics and places the burden of proving claims on the advertiser. Instead of promising weight loss or measurements within a specified period, the program content and the instructor’s working approach are described.

Health information is special-category data under Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law, and its processing is subject to limited exceptions. The trial class form is restricted to name, phone, class and day information; necessary health documents are collected through a separate process at the facility.

Preparing a fitness center website whose copy and photographs have been supplied, without payment or booking integration, takes an average of 5-7 business days. When online membership sales or a capacity-limited class system is added, the timeframe is planned together after the written scope is prepared.
